My one-to-one tutorials are tailored to each student's individual strengths, needs and academic goals, helping them build confidence as well as improve their English skills.Tuition is available face-to-face in Eastbourne or online via Zoom, from Eleven Plus and KS3 through to GCSE, A Level and university-level support.

English - Eleven Plus

I provide personalised English tuition to help students develop the skills and confidence needed for the Eleven Plus examination.

Tuition includes:

  • Reading comprehension and inference

  • Vocabulary development

  • Grammar, punctuation and spelling

  • Creative and descriptive writing

  • Exam-style questions and practice

  • Exam technique and time management
     

Lessons are adapted to each student's individual strengths and areas for development, with an emphasis on building both ability and confidence.

English KS3

My KS3 English tuition strengthens the core reading, writing and analytical skills students need to succeed at secondary school while building a strong foundation for GCSE English.

Lessons focus on:

  • Reading comprehension and inference

  • Language and literary analysis

  • Fiction and non-fiction writing

  • Creative and descriptive writing

  • Essay and paragraph structure

  • Vocabulary, grammar and punctuation

  • Developing and supporting interpretations with evidence

  • Building confidence in written responses
     

Lessons are personalised to complement what the student is learning at school while identifying and addressing individual gaps in knowledge.

Importantly, KS3 tuition also introduces the analytical and writing skills students will later need for GCSE English Language and Literature, helping make the transition to GCSE study smoother and more confident.
