1. Hourly Rate

The hourly rate for tutorial services varies based on the type of service provided. Please refer to Tutorial Services for specific details.

 

2. Payment

• Payment is due on the day of the scheduled tutorial unless otherwise agreed.

• Payment should be made by bank transfer.

• Where payment remains outstanding, future sessions may be paused until the account is brought up to date.

 

Current tuition fees are published on the Tutorial Services page. Any changes to tuition fees will be communicated in advance and will not apply retrospectively to sessions already paid for.

3. Cancellation Policy

• At least 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a tutorial.

• Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will normally be charged at the full tutorial rate.

• If I need to cancel a session, I will provide as much notice as possible and arrange an alternative session. No charge will be made for a session I cancel.

• Exceptional circumstances will be considered at my discretion.

• If a student does not attend a scheduled tutorial without prior notice, the session will be charged at the full rate.

 

4. Online Tutoring Requirements

• Students should have access to a laptop or computer with a reliable internet connection.

• Zoom should be installed and ready to use before the session.

• Students should have an exercise book and appropriate writing equipment available.

• Some learning materials may be provided electronically or may need to be printed in advance where appropriate.

 

5. Face-to-Face Tutoring Requirements

• Face-to-face sessions are held at my home address.

• Students should bring their own exercise book and writing equipment.

• Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that students are dropped off and collected promptly at the agreed times.

 

6. Homework Policy

• Where homework is assigned, students are expected to make a reasonable effort to complete it. Work requiring marking or detailed feedback should normally be submitted at least 24 hours before the next tutorial.

 

7. Parental/Guardian Involvement

• For younger students, parents or guardians are encouraged to support the tutoring process by helping students maintain regular attendance, complete agreed work and communicate any concerns that may affect their learning.

 

8. Confidentiality

• Personal information will be handled confidentially and in accordance with Edumat's Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection requirements.

 

9. Code of Conduct

• Students are expected to maintain respectful behaviour during tutoring sessions.

• Students are expected to commit to learning and complete all activities and extra work.

• Serious or repeated inappropriate behaviour may result in the session or tuition arrangement being ended.

 

10. Session Attendance

• Students are expected to arrive on time and prepared for their tutorial. If a student arrives late, the session will normally still end at the originally scheduled time and the full tutorial fee will apply.

 

11. Technical Issues

• If technical difficulties on my side prevent an online tutorial from taking place or substantially disrupt the session, I will arrange additional time or a replacement session at no extra cost.

• If technical difficulties occur on the student's side, I will make reasonable efforts to continue the session, but a replacement session cannot always be guaranteed.

 

12. Safety and Well-being

• For face-to-face sessions, it is essential for both students and parents or guardians to feel comfortable and secure.

• I encourage open communication about any specific needs or concerns related to safety and well-being, including health considerations and accessibility requirements.

• Your input helps me create a supportive environment, allowing me to tailor each session to meet the unique needs of every student and fostering an atmosphere of trust and collaboration that enhances the tutoring experience.

13. Learning Resources & Copyright.

• Learning materials provided as part of Edumat tuition are for the student's personal educational use only and should not be copied, published, shared, sold or distributed without permission.

14. Academic Integrity

• I provide teaching, guidance, feedback and editing support but will not complete assessed work on a student's behalf. Students remain responsible for ensuring that submitted work is their own and complies with the academic integrity requirements of their school, college, university or examination body.

15. Termination of Service

• Students or parents/guardians may end ongoing tuition at any time, subject to the cancellation policy for any session already booked.

• I reserve the right to discontinue tuition where there is persistent non-payment, repeated non-attendance, inappropriate behaviour or another circumstance that makes continuation of tuition impractical or inappropriate.

16. Acceptance of Terms

• By booking or commencing tuition with Edumat, students and/or their parents or guardians acknowledge that they have read and agree to these Terms of Service.​
